WHO CREATED THIS COURSE?
If we haven’t met before – Hi, my name is Jan.
I set myself the goal to run a marathon in 2017 without ever having started in a real race before. Great idea, right? I think that’s pretty much the most chosen path in running. First, a marathon. With that goal in mind, I signed up for the nearest marathon and started training.
My journey in endurance sports started in 2017. Before that I played amateur soccer for 15 years. It was time for new challenges.
Like any novice runner without training experience or a coach, my first injury wasn’t far behind. Too much volume and too fast intensities led to patellar tendonitis, which plagued me for a long time.
Somehow I got through the marathon itself and finished in 4:00:04. That was 2018.
After that I hooked in endurance sport and started doing triathlons. I trained like a maniac and absorbing every information to get better.
As COVID hit my performance peaked. In 2021 I ran a 10k in 34:30min and one week later a half marathon in 1:18:32.
In 2022 I got back into marathon running. I reached out for Sub 3 and did it in the first try.
I know that my times in the shorter distance would have predicted a better performance. But the marathon had its own rules. I made one mistake that killed my race at around 30k. Don’t make that mistake too. More on that in the email course…
WHY LEARN FROM ME?
I’m looking back to 6 years of endurance training now. I’ve trained over 2000h and have run and cycled over 30,000km (of which approx. 2000km are running annually). That’s a hell lot of volume for someone who works in a 40h+ 9 to 5 job.
TIME I TRAINED IN THE LAST YEARS:
2018: 136h – 1668km
2019: 333h – 4221km
2020: 259h – 4265km
2021: 453h – 7638km
2022: 418h – 7860km
2023: 449h – 6235km
In total: 2048h – 31887km
In the years of training I learned a lot. I tried things, made mistakes and figured out what worked and didn’t worked.
I read a lot of books, watched hundreds of videos and absorbed everything to push my performances a lot. I never had someone that trained me. Everything is self taught. And now I want it give further to you.
Until now I took my personal bests to the following. But that’s not the end. I’m still learning and improving.
